Army Wraps Up Han Kuang 41 Live-Fire Drill with Command Transfer and Discipline Reminders

The National Army’s Han Kuang 41st live-fire military drill concluded today, July 18, with field units gradually withdrawing and returning to their respective bases in the early morning hours. As reported by Youth Daily, Army Commander Lu Kunxiu returned to headquarters on the eve of the final day to oversee the transfer exercise of the backup command and control system, a key component in ensuring operational continuity during wartime.

Commander Lu emphasized the importance of maintaining discipline and safety as troops demobilized, reminding units to observe safe driving practices and thoroughly clean up training traces in the exercise zones to uphold professional military standards.

During wartime, the Army Commander holds a different operational role, stationed at the Dazhi Hengshan Command Post, where he supports the Chief of Staff as the Chief of Ground Operations. While this command transfer drill is ideally performed at the start of a live exercise, sources revealed it was executed on the ninth day of this year’s drill. The Han Kuang 41 exercise placed a strong focus on ground force coordination, with Lu supervising deployment and readiness measures via remote communication channels.

Accompanied by senior officials including Chief of Staff Chen Jianyi and Political Warfare Director Shi Shunwen, Lu led an inspection of the backup command center and reinforced the need to review and absorb key takeaways from the joint operation. He encouraged leadership across units to extract valuable operational insights and confirm the efficiency of joint combat protocols.

A video conference with field officers was held to ensure seamless communication between command levels. Lu reiterated that all personnel must transition smoothly back to peacetime responsibilities, with a focus on safety and discipline, to mark the successful completion of this significant national defense training initiative.
