BOC Flags Missing Records for Discaya Couple’s Luxury Cars

Manila, Philippines — September 6, 2025

The Bureau of Customs (BOC) revealed that eight out of 12 luxury vehicles linked to contractors Sarah and Pacifico Discaya have no official entry records in the country.

According to BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, the couple has been given 10 days to present documents proving that the appropriate duties and taxes were paid for the cars. He stressed that the agency aims to ensure its findings are backed by solid evidence that can withstand scrutiny in court.

The BOC is also preparing to secure search warrants for additional vehicles reportedly owned by the Discayas. Sarah Discaya earlier claimed that the family possesses 28 luxury cars, but Senate Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada disclosed that Land Transportation Office (LTO) records list as many as 40 high-end vehicles under their name.

The investigation forms part of the government’s wider probe into alleged irregularities in flood control projects, where the Discayas are among those facing scrutiny.
