Body of Elderly Woman Found in Kaohsiung’s Love River, Police Investigating

KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan — A tragic discovery was made early this morning as the body of an elderly woman was found floating in the Love River, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.

The Wufu 4th Road Police Station under the Yancheng Police Department received a report at approximately 6:35 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene alongside firefighters, responders pulled the body from the river but found no signs of life.

Forensic personnel conducted a preliminary examination and identified the deceased as a 72-year-old woman surnamed Liao. Authorities reported that there were no visible signs of external injuries or foul play at the scene.
