Bonoan Resigns; Marcos Appoints Dizon to Lead DPWH

Manila (August 31, 2025)– President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has appointed Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon as the new chief of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) following the resignation of Secretary Manuel Bonoan.

In a statement released Sunday, Malacañang confirmed that Bonoan’s resignation took effect on September 1, 2025.

“To guide DPWH during this important transition, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has designated Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon as the new Secretary of DPWH,” the Palace said.

According to Malacañang, Dizon has been directed to carry out a comprehensive organizational review of the department and to guarantee that government funds are fully utilized for the country’s infrastructure programs.
