The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has once again reminded the public that seeking help under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program should be done directly with the agencyâwithout the need for fixers.
According to the DSWD, the advisory is meant to protect beneficiaries from exploitation and to ensure that aid reaches those who truly need it.
DSWD Crisis Intervention Program Director Edwin Morata emphasized that the agencyâs social workers are always ready to provide assistance. He noted that they are trained to offer immediate support and guidance to individuals facing difficult circumstances.
âThe AICS application process is designed to be simple, accessible, and free of charge,â Morata said.
Applicants only need to present the correct information and required documents to process their requests efficiently. Completing the necessary requirements is important to avoid delays in receiving assistance.
Morata also cautioned the public against engaging with fixers, stressing that doing so only leads to confusion, unnecessary expenses, and potential complications. Instead, he urged applicants to coordinate directly with DSWD offices to guarantee safe and legitimate transactions.
The agency assured that through proper procedures, the AICS program will continue to provide timely help to Filipinos in crisis situations.
