Wednesday, September 17, 2025 — Newly elected House Speaker Bojie Dy openly admitted to the shortcomings of the House leadership while appealing to the public for a second chance.
In his first major speech since assuming the role, Dy expressed humility in addressing the challenges and controversies surrounding the lower chamber.
“I will be the first to say to our people: We have shortcomings. We humbly admit this to you,” the Speaker declared.
He further underscored their commitment to correcting mistakes and regaining public trust. “We ask that you allow us the chance to fix the wrong practices and cleanse our ranks. We appeal for your understanding and another opportunity to earn your confidence.”
