Changhua County, Taiwan (September 27, 2025)— A tragic workplace accident occurred this afternoon in Xianxi Township, Changhua County, where a 48-year-old factory worker lost his life after being found injured near a dehydrator machine.
Authorities reported that the victim, identified by his surname Zhou, was discovered lying unconscious beside the equipment in the production area. Initial findings suggest he may have been struck or crushed by a heavy object.
The Changhua County Fire Department received an emergency call around 3:00 p.m. yesterday and immediately dispatched paramedics to the scene. When they arrived, Zhou showed no signs of life. Rescuers performed CPR and used an automated external defibrillator (AED) before rushing him to Changbin Show Chwan Hospital.
Despite the medical team’s efforts, Zhou was declared dead shortly after arrival. Doctors noted that his trachea had been severely displaced, which hindered intubation attempts during resuscitation.
Police, together with labor safety inspectors, have launched an investigation to determine the precise cause of the accident and whether workplace safety standards were properly followed.
