MIAOLI COUNTY (September 28, 2025)– A fire broke out this morning (Sept. 28) at a fried chicken shop on Zhongzheng Road in Toufen City, prompting an immediate response from local firefighters.
The Miaoli County Fire Department reported receiving the alarm at 7:56 a.m. When crews arrived, they were met with flames shooting from the rooftop and dense smoke billowing overhead. Because the burning shop was located beside a cake store, firefighters treated the situation with heightened caution to prevent the fire from spreading further.
Firefighters promptly entered the building to set up interior water lines while also deploying exterior hoses for protection. Within minutes, the team managed to suppress the blaze, followed by ventilation work to remove the heavy smoke. Authorities confirmed that no one was trapped or injured during the incident.
Deputy Captain Lin Yuxing of the Fire Department’s Third Battalion said the command center immediately dispatched reinforcements from the Third Battalion, Toufen Detachment, and Zhunan Detachment, mobilizing eight fire trucks and 17 personnel. The fire, which had spread from the fourth floor of the fried chicken shop to the adjacent cake store, was brought under control in less than 30 minutes.
Investigators are now examining the burned area and working to determine the cause of the fire.
