Interior Secretary Remulla Calls Marcos’ 2025 SONA “Spectacular,” Best He’s Witnessed

MANILA, Philippines – July 28, 2025 — Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla heaped praise on President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), describing it as “spectacular” and the best SONA he has witnessed in his career.

In an interview following the President’s speech at the Batasang Pambansa, Remulla said he was impressed not only by the substance of the address but also by its delivery and clarity.

“Para sa akin, ito na ang pinakamahusay na SONA na napanood at narinig ko. It was spectacular,” said Remulla.

He lauded the President for providing a clear direction on key national issues, particularly infrastructure, disaster resilience, anti-corruption efforts, and peace and order. Remulla also commended the President’s firm stance on accountability, especially on the alleged misuse of funds for flood control projects.

“The President spoke with conviction and empathy,” Remulla added. “He laid out real accomplishments and realistic goals moving forward.”

The Interior chief said the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is committed to supporting the administration’s efforts in promoting transparency, ensuring public safety, and delivering basic services down to the barangay level.

Remulla’s endorsement adds to a chorus of support from Cabinet members and allies who hailed the SONA as a strong reflection of Marcos’ leadership and governance priorities.
