Motorcyclist in Tainan Caught on Video Engaging in Dangerous Driving

Tainan City, Sept. 14, 2025 — A motorcyclist in Tainan’s East District drew attention after being filmed performing a reckless maneuver on Yuzhong Road in the Huweiliao Redevelopment Area. The rider placed the front wheel of his motorcycle onto a flatbed and pushed the rear wheel forward with his feet, sparking concerns over dangerous driving.

Although no formal report has been filed, the Tainan City First Precinct confirmed it had reviewed the circulating video. Authorities said the rider’s actions violated Article 43, Paragraph 1 of the Road Traffic Management Penalty Act, which defines such behavior as dangerous driving. Offenders face fines ranging from NT$6,000 to NT$36,000, and in the event of an accident, their driver’s license may be revoked.

Police announced that they will review surveillance footage from the area to identify the rider and require them to appear at the station to explain the violation. A fine will then be issued in line with regulations.

Officials urged the public to strictly follow traffic safety rules, stressing that motorcycles experiencing mechanical issues should be repaired promptly or pulled over safely. Engaging in reckless acts not only endangers the rider but also poses serious risks to other road users.
