‘Queen of Canada’ cult leader Romana Didulo arrested in Saskatchewan raid

September 5, 2025 | Manila, Philippines — Romana Didulo, a Filipino-born conspiracy theorist who has declared herself the “Queen of Canada,” was arrested along with 16 of her followers after police raided their compound in Richmound, Saskatchewan.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) launched the operation on Wednesday after receiving a report that a firearm was present on the site. Officers searched the compound — an abandoned school used as the group’s base — and recovered 13 replica semi-automatic pistols along with ammunition, according to a CBC report.

Didulo and her group had relocated to Richmound in 2023 after being expelled from Kamsack, a nearby town. There, she had claimed divine authority over the land, telling residents and local officials that “God gave us this land.” The Richmound property, owned by supporter Ricky Manz, became the headquarters of what she called the “Kingdom of Canada.”

RCMP Inspector Ashley St. Germaine described the raid as a “large and complex operation,” noting that more than 30 police vehicles were deployed. Didulo livestreamed her arrest on Telegram, where she has an audience of over 70,000. Footage showed armed officers entering her room and informing her she was under arrest, the BBC reported.

The 48-year-old, who emigrated from the Philippines to Canada as a teenager, first drew national attention in 2022 when she joined the COVID-19 “freedom convoy” protests in Ottawa. During that period, she publicly proclaimed herself Canada’s monarch.

Didulo has promoted a mix of QAnon-inspired conspiracy theories, including claims that former U.S. President Donald Trump is secretly battling a cabal of child-abusing elites. She also issued so-called “royal decrees” to her followers, telling them they no longer needed to pay bills or debts — actions that led many to lose their homes, utilities, and vehicles.

The Canadian Anti-Hate Network has monitored her activities since 2021 after her supporters were reported to have delivered threatening “cease and desist” notices to health workers, warning of violence against anyone administering vaccines to children.

Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing, with Didulo and her followers facing possible charges linked to the raid.
