Leyte 1st District Representative and House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez expressed confidence that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA) will emphasize inclusive development and responsive governance tailored to the needs of the Filipino people.
Romualdez commended the President’s leadership, citing major strides under the current administration. He lauded the government’s bold economic recovery efforts and continued investments in agriculture, infrastructure, education, and digital innovation.
“Through strong and compassionate leadership, the President has demonstrated that good governance can uplift lives and restore the people’s confidence in our nation’s future,” Romualdez said.
As president of the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), Romualdez described the fourth SONA as a key moment to reaffirm the country’s development path while addressing urgent public concerns.
He emphasized the importance of using this occasion not only to recognize past achievements but also to present a clear, humane, and forward-looking agenda that resonates with the daily struggles of ordinary Filipinos.
Romualdez also assured the public of the House of Representatives’ continued support for the President’s legislative agenda. He said Congress remains committed to enacting measures that deliver real, tangible benefits for Filipino families.
“We in the House of Representatives stand firmly behind the President’s vision. We are ready to translate his priorities into action by passing laws that will ease the burden on Filipino families, strengthen our economy, and ensure that no one is left behind in the journey toward a truly inclusive and secure future,” he added.
President Marcos is scheduled to deliver his fourth SONA on July 28 at the Batasang Pambansa in Quezon City.
