Romualdez: Walang Itatago, Walang Poprotektahan sa Imbestigasyon sa Flood Control Projects

September 15, 2025 — House Speaker Martin Romualdez assured the public that the House of Representatives will fully cooperate with the newly formed Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI), which has been tasked to investigate alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

Romualdez stressed that the chamber’s commitment is to ensure transparency and accountability in the process. “We will make sure the investigation is fair, grounded on facts, and firmly guided by the rule of law,” he said in a statement.

He further emphasized that the House has nothing to conceal and no one to protect. “Walang itinatago, walang poprotektahan, at higit sa lahat—hindi lilihis sa interes ng taumbayan,” Romualdez declared.

The ICI was recently established through Executive Order No. 94 to look into corruption and anomalies in infrastructure programs, particularly flood control projects. Its findings are expected to serve as the basis for reforms and potential legal action against those found liable.
