MANILA, Philippines — Senator Camille Villar led all candidates in campaign expenditures during the 2025 midterm elections, spending a total of ₱179.6 million, according to data released by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).
The figures were based on the Statements of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) submitted and made publicly available through COMELEC’s official website. Villar’s campaign spending placed her at the top of the list, followed closely by Senator Lito Lapid, who reported ₱163.5 million in expenses, and Senator Pia Cayetano with ₱162 million.
Other senators who reported high campaign expenditures include Senator Imee Marcos with ₱139.2 million, Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa with ₱128.7 million, and Senator Bong Go, who declared ₱127.3 million in total campaign spending.
COMELEC stated that scanned copies of SOCEs from 60 senatorial candidates, 29 political parties, and 141 party-lists are now accessible online, allowing the public to review the financial disclosures of those who ran in the recent election.
As part of its continuing efforts to enhance transparency and accessibility, the poll body also launched an online submission system for SOCEs. This digital platform is set to be fully utilized in the upcoming Bangsamoro Parliamentary Elections in October, aiming to streamline compliance and promote accountability among candidates and political groups.
