Taipei, July 5, 2025 — Typhoon Danas continues to move northward, with forecasts now indicating a potential direct landfall in Taiwan, prompting the Central Weather Agency (CWA) to prepare for the issuance of a land typhoon warning later tonight. The storm’s eye may touch land, and authorities are warning of possible typhoon holidays, along with suspension of work and classes in high-risk areas.
According to the CWA, the typhoon’s intensity is expected to strengthen slightly as it nears Taiwan, with the most significant impact forecast from Sunday (July 6) through early Monday (July 7). The storm’s outer bands are expected to bring strong winds and heavy rains to many parts of the country.

Precautionary Measures and Possible Closures
Given the high probability of impact, local governments may soon announce class and work suspensions, especially in areas with elevated typhoon risk. The public is urged to stay tuned to official announcements and take immediate precautions such as securing loose items, charging essential devices, and preparing emergency kits.
The CWA continues to monitor the typhoon’s path and will issue updates regularly, including the expected landfall zone, intensity, and evacuation notices if necessary.
As Typhoon Danas inches closer to Taiwan, residents across the island are advised to brace for impact. Stay alert, stay informed, and prioritize safety.
