Taipei Continues Normal Operations Despite Typhoon Danas Warning

TAIPEI, July 7 — Despite the ongoing threat posed by Typhoon Danas, authorities have confirmed that work and school will continue as usual today (Monday) in Taipei City, New Taipei City, and Keelung. Public transportation systems, including all Taipei MRT lines, are operating normally, with service frequencies adjusted as needed based on real-time conditions.

Key facilities such as the MRT transfer parking areas, Beitou Hall, and the MRT merchandise center are also open and fully operational. However, commuters are reminded that the Muzha Plant parking lot only opens on weekends and holidays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and remains closed on weekdays. Vehicles parked there due to water gate restrictions on July 6 (Sunday) can be retrieved today, July 7.

⚠️ Public Safety Reminders

The Water Resources Department has emphasized that Taipei remains within the land warning zone for Typhoon Danas. Although all riverside park facilities were evacuated yesterday, the public is strongly advised to stay away from riverside areas unless absolutely necessary. For those who must visit, authorities urge caution and stress the importance of personal safety, including preparing for possible strong winds and rainfall.

Restoration of riverside park facilities will begin once weather conditions stabilize. The public is asked to remain patient and understanding during this time.
