Typhoon Danas Land Alert Expanded — Work and Classes Suspended in Yunlin County Starting 6 PM

Taiwan – July 6, 2025 – The Central Weather Agency (CWA) has expanded the land alert for Light Typhoon Danas, warning of stronger winds and heavier rain beginning later today and continuing into tomorrow, July 7. Based on current forecasts, 11 counties and cities may meet the threshold to suspend work and classes, although final announcements will be made by local governments.

According to the CWA’s latest bulletin, Typhoon Danas is expected to pass between Penghu and the main island of Taiwan, with a possibility of making landfall. As the system moves closer, wind and rain are forecast to intensify significantly during the second half of today.
