Typhoon Emong Raises Signal No. 3 Over Parts of Pangasinan and La Union

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3 over several towns in Pangasinan and La Union as Typhoon Emong moves closer to northern Luzon.
According to PAGASA’s latest bulletin, Anda, Bolinao, and Bani in Pangasinan, as well as Bacnotan, San Juan, Luna, Balaoan, and San Fernando City in La Union are now under Signal No. 3. These areas are expected to experience strong winds of up to 110 km/h, with gusts reaching 135 km/h.
As of 5:00 AM today, the center of Typhoon Emong was spotted 245 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union.
Signal No. 2 has also been raised over:

Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, the rest of La Union

The western portions of Apayao (Conner, Kabugao, Calanasan), Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet

The central parts of Pangasinan including Alaminos, Dagupan, and Lingayen

The western part of Nueva Vizcaya (Kayapa, Santa Fe)
Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 is in effect over:

Batanes, Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands

The rest of Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, and Pangasinan

The northern and central portions of Zambales, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija
Typhoon Emong is expected to pass through Pangasinan this afternoon and may make landfall in the Ilocos Region later tonight or early Thursday morning.
PAGASA has warned residents of possible flooding, landslides, and damage to crops and infrastructure. Fisherfolk and small sea vessels are strongly advised to stay ashore due to rough seas, especially along the western coast of Luzon.
Local government units and disaster response teams are on alert as the storm approaches land.
