Taipei – August 29 – A shocking incident in Taipei’s bustling Xinyi District drew widespread online attention after a video surfaced showing a man and a woman engaging in what appeared to be sexual activity in public.
On the evening of August 28, a netizen uploaded a two-minute clip to the social media platform Baoliao Gongshe under the title “Crazy Xinyi District Live Battle.” The video, reportedly filmed on an overpass near the Vieshow shopping area, captured a woman—believed to be unclothed from the waist down—performing intimate acts with a male companion. At one point, the woman squatted in front of the man before later pressing her body against his in an act resembling intercourse.
Bystanders who witnessed the scene recorded the act on their phones, with some audibly expressing shock. Despite the reactions from onlookers, the couple appeared indifferent and continued their behavior until the video abruptly ended.
After its initial posting, the footage spread rapidly online but was soon removed from Facebook due to violations of community guidelines. Nevertheless, screenshots and clips continue to circulate across various platforms.
Authorities at the Sanzhangli Police Station confirmed they are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the individuals involved. The police stated that the couple’s actions are considered a violation of Taiwan’s public indecency laws. Once identified, the pair will be summoned for questioning and could face legal prosecution.
