Preparing a strong resume is often the first step in landing a job, and one online career platform is harnessing artificial intelligence to make the process easier for Filipino job seekers.
Bossjob recently introduced an AI-driven feature that automatically generates resumes in the widely recognized applicant tracking system (ATS) format. ATS, developed by Harvard University, is now used by most employers to screen job applications.
“When users complete their profiles by filling in their job history and experiences, the system creates a CV in ATS format,” explained Bossjob Marketing Director Ibon Toledo. “Previously, applicants had to manually search for the Harvard template, but now our AI handles that for them directly.”
Human Factor Still Matters
Despite automation, Toledo emphasized that employers still have flexibility. Recruiters can search candidates using specific keywords within the Bossjob platform, while job seekers can directly chat with employers to check if they are a good fit.
Tackling the Jobs Mismatch
Beyond resume-building, Bossjob is also addressing a deeper issue: the gap between what schools teach and what industries actually need.
Toledo noted that while universities still focus heavily on producing graduates for the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector, current demand has shifted. “Our data shows growing opportunities in retail, wholesale, food and beverage, and agriculture. But many schools are not preparing graduates for these fields,” she said.
Partnerships with Schools and MSMEs
To close this gap, Bossjob is working with universities to help students transition smoothly into the workforce. The company offers upskilling webinars, mock interviews, and resume-building workshops for graduating students.
Bossjob has also partnered with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as well as non-government organizations to create more employment opportunities.
Expanding Beyond Metro Manila
Toledo added that Bossjob is extending its reach to regional areas. “Since January, we’ve been actively engaging with employers and talents in Visayas and Mindanao. There’s a wealth of skilled individuals outside Metro Manila, and companies there need more accessible hiring solutions,” she said.
With these initiatives, Bossjob aims not only to modernize the job application process but also to help balance the country’s labor market by connecting industries with qualified workers.
