Philippine Embassy in Qatar Advises Filipinos to Stay Indoors After Israeli Airstrike

September 10, 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Qatar has issued an advisory urging Filipinos in Doha to remain indoors and exercise caution following an Israeli strike reportedly aimed at senior Hamas leaders in the city.

With over 260,000 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Qatar, the embassy stressed the importance of vigilance, advising nationals to avoid crowded places, follow local government directives, and rely on credible news sources for updates.

“The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in the State of Qatar urges all Filipino nationals to remain calm, monitor news from credible sources, and heed the advice of local authorities,” the advisory stated.

The warning came shortly after international reports confirmed that Israel carried out targeted strikes in Doha, prompting heightened security across the Qatari capital.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) also assured that it is closely coordinating with Qatari officials to safeguard the welfare of Filipinos. The embassy further noted that emergency hotlines are available for nationals who may require urgent assistance.

Qatar hosts one of the largest Filipino communities in the Middle East, with many employed in healthcare, construction, and household services.
