Before you can officially begin your teaching journey in Taiwan, one of the most important steps is the legalization and authentication of your documents. This process ensures that your credentials are valid and recognized by both the Philippine and Taiwanese authorities.
To guide you, here’s a breakdown of the required documents and authentication fees as shown in the infographic below:

Step 1: Prepare Your Primary Documents
Make sure you have the following valid and updated:
-
Passport – PHP 950 to PHP 1,200
-
CAV (Certification, Authentication, and Verification)
-
TOR (Transcript of Records)
-
Diploma
Fees range from PHP 500 to PHP 1,000 depending on your school.
-
-
PRC License – PHP 450 for renewal, PHP 75 per certified copy
-
NBI Clearance – PHP 155
Step 2: DFA Apostille (Authentication)
After gathering your documents, have them authenticated by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
-
CAV (TOR/Diploma): PHP 100–200 per set
-
PRC License (CTC): PHP 100–200 per set
-
NBI Clearance: PHP 100–200 per set
Step 3: TECO Authentication
Finally, submit your DFA-apostilled documents to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) for authentication.
-
Fee: PHP 800–1,200 per set of documents
Completing these steps ensures your documents are properly authenticated and accepted by Taiwanese schools and employers.
💡 Tip: Plan your schedule and budget accordingly. Regular processing may take longer but costs less, while expedited processing is faster but with additional fees.
