LOOK: Patient’s ₱1-Million Bill Fully Covered Under Sultan Kudarat’s Free Hospitalization Program

SULTAN KUDARAT — The Sultan Kudarat Provincial Hospital revealed a billing statement showing that a patient, whose medical expenses amounted to over ₱1 million, paid absolutely nothing for the treatment, thanks to the province’s No Balance Billing (NBB) program.

Hospital officials explained that the patient benefited from the free medical services initiative launched under the leadership of Governor Datu Pax Ali Sangki Mangudadatu, who implemented the NBB policy in 2022. Since then, patients admitted to the provincial hospital have been able to access full medical care without worrying about costs.

The hospital emphasized that the free healthcare services are available to all, including non-residents of the province.

“This program reflects our commitment to making healthcare accessible to everyone, regardless of income or residency,” the hospital’s management said.

The NBB program has been widely praised by the public for easing the financial burden of hospitalization, especially for low-income and marginalized families. The provincial government continues to encourage patients in need to seek care without hesitation.
