Apply Now: OWWA Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) – Online Application Open

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), in partnership with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), is now accepting online applications for the Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP). This initiative provides financial support to qualified dependents of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), helping them pursue and complete a baccalaureate degree in any accredited college or university in the Philippines.


🎓 What is EDSP?

The Education for Development Scholarship Program (EDSP) is a scholarship grant of up to PHP 60,000 per school year, awarded to eligible dependents of active OWWA members. The grant is renewable annually for 4 to 5 years, covering the entire duration of a baccalaureate degree.

✨ Scholarship Allocation:

  • Incoming College Freshmen: 600 slots

    • Selection based on DOST national examination

    • Only the Top 1,000 qualifiers nationwide are considered

  • 2nd to 5th Year College Students: 400 slots

    • Must be currently enrolled in a Philippine-based institution


General Qualifications

For Incoming First-Year College Students:

  • Child or sibling of an active OWWA member

  • Single and not more than 21 years old

  • Currently in Grade 12

  • With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 80%

  • No family member currently availing of any other OWWA scholarship

For 2nd to 5th Year College Students:

  • Child or sibling of an active OWWA member

  • Single and not more than 30 years old

  • With a GWA of at least 85%

  • No failing grades

  • Currently enrolled in a Philippine-based college/university

  • No other family member availing of any OWWA scholarship program


📌 Required Documents for Online Application

  1. Proof of Identity

    • OFW: Valid passport (bio/information page)

    • Dependent: School ID or any valid ID

    • Birth certificate or baptismal certificate

  2. Proof of Grades

    • Latest Form 137, Form 138, Transcript of Records (TOR), or Certificate of Grades

    • If current school year grades are unavailable, previous school year’s grades may be submitted

  3. 2×2 ID Picture

    • White background

    • Name tag and signature of the applicant


📅 Important Notes

  • Applications are strictly online.

  • Only qualified applicants who meet all criteria will be considered.

  • No duplicate availment is allowed within OFW families.

  • Ensure all required documents are complete before submission.
