Save on Summer Trips! Hualien Launches NT$2,000 Travel Incentive

HUALIEN, TAIWAN – July 5, 2025 — In an effort to revitalize tourism in the region, the Hualien County Government has partnered with online travel platforms to launch a series of subsidy programs aimed at attracting more independent travelers and families to visit the area. Eligible travelers can receive up to NT$2,000 in discounts per room by booking specific flight and accommodation packages through a designated app.

The program is active now through November 30, 2025, and applies to bookings made via the ezTravel app. Tourists booking designated “Fly to Hualien” packages or flight-and-hotel bundles can use the promo code “B7hua2000” to receive a discount of up to NT$2,000 per group of two.

Affordable Itineraries and Flexible Options

To make travel more accessible, the county government recommends the “Hualien 2-Day Free Travel” itinerary. This package includes round-trip airfare via Uni Air (North-Hualien route) and accommodations at star-rated hotels in Hualien. With prices starting at NT$2,490 per person, travelers can enjoy subsidies from NT$1,500 to NT$2,000 per person, depending on the selected package.

For tourists seeking more flexible lodging options, the government also promotes the “Huaxianhaosu” accommodation subsidy program. By using the code “Hualien500”, travelers can enjoy a NT$500 discount per room. Those booking accommodations with GSTC (Global Sustainable Tourism Council) certification can upgrade the subsidy to NT$1,000 per room by using the code “GSTC1000.”

These discounts are available until August 31 or until funding is exhausted, and each code can only be used once per person.

Supporting Local Tourism

Hualien County Magistrate Hsu Chen-wei emphasized that the launch of these two major subsidy initiatives is a joint effort between local authorities and the tourism industry to reduce travel costs and encourage more people to visit Hualien.

“By combining government support and local resources, we hope to ease the financial burden on summer travelers and invite more tourists back to Hualien to support our accommodation and tourism sectors,” said Hsu.
