Kaohsiung Factory Accident Claims Life of Female Worker

September 12, 2025 — Kaohsiung City, Taiwan — A tragic workplace accident occurred this afternoon at a steel structure company in Gangshan District, leaving a 33-year-old female employee surnamed Zeng dead after being struck by a steel beam.

Authorities said the incident took place at around 2:30 p.m. on Suixi Road, where Ms. Zeng was carrying out surveying work. She reportedly slipped and fell from a steel beam, which then collapsed onto her. The heavy impact caused her to lose consciousness immediately.

Emergency services were quickly dispatched after the factory called 119. Paramedics provided first aid at the scene before rushing her to Okayama Hiden Hospital. Despite efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at 3:20 p.m. due to the severity of her injuries.

Police and forensic investigators arrived at the site shortly after the accident to secure evidence and assess the circumstances. The Labor Inspection Department was also notified and has launched a probe to determine the cause of the accident and to evaluate any potential safety lapses at the workplace.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation will clarify liability and ensure accountability, as worker safety remains a top priority in industrial operations.
