Estudyante sa Banqiao Junior High, Nahulog mula sa Gusali

New Taipei City, Taiwan (September 16, 2025) A campus accident in Banqiao District startled students and teachers this afternoon after a ninth-grader fell from a building during school cleaning time.

According to the New Taipei City Department of Education, the student accidentally stepped on a first-floor sunshade located above a basement ventilation and lighting shaft. The structure gave way, causing the teen to fall directly into the underground parking area.

School staff immediately performed first aid and rushed the student to the hospital. Reports confirmed the student suffered a head injury but remained conscious upon arrival. Doctors have since placed the student in the intensive care unit for close monitoring and treatment.

The school principal, academic director, and homeroom teacher quickly went to the hospital to support the student and the family. Meanwhile, the school has strengthened safety measures at the site and launched counseling services to stabilize the mood of classmates and faculty members.

The Education Bureau has directed the school to conduct a thorough review of all facilities to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure overall campus safety.
