Manila, September 15, 2025 — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday called for a thorough review of irregularities surrounding questionable infrastructure projects, stressing the need to understand how the government reached its current state.
In a press conference, Marcos questioned the systemic issues that allowed anomalies to occur. “We have to find out how this happened and what are the changes that we need to make so that we make this into an inflection point in terms of how government does its business,” he said.
The President emphasized that uncovering the root causes of the alleged anomalies is crucial in ensuring accountability and instituting reforms in government systems and processes. He said the administration intends to turn the controversy into an opportunity to push for stronger transparency and better governance.
