Quezon City 2nd District Representative Ralph Tulfo addressed public reactions to a video showing him at a lavish party in Las Vegas, clarifying that the footage was taken back in 2023.
Tulfo explained that the celebration, which reportedly cost around ₱6.77 million, was not funded by public money. He emphasized that no government funds were involved and that the expenses were shouldered through his own resources and contributions from close friends.
According to Tulfo, the gathering was held during the Christmas season and New Year festivities, coinciding with good news received by a friend, which gave them reason to celebrate.
He admitted that the incident serves as a lesson, saying he will be more mindful moving forward, especially in light of the country’s ongoing struggles with corruption and poverty.
Tulfo, the son of Senator Raffy Tulfo and ACT-CIS Party-list Rep. Jocelyn Tulfo, said he understands the sensitivity of such issues and assured the public that personal celebrations will not affect his duties as a lawmaker.
