The forecast also indicates a high likelihood of short-term intense rainfall in parts of Tainan, Kaohsiung, Matsu, and the mountainous areas of Chiayi County. Authorities advised the public to watch out for lightning strikes and strong gusty winds, particularly during the morning hours of July 27.

Areas under alert include:

  • Heavy rain: Pingtung County, Hengchun Peninsula

  • Moderate to heavy rain: Chiayi County (mountain areas), Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, Matsu

The CWA continues to monitor weather conditions and will provide updates as necessary. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay informed and take precautionary measures against potential flooding and landslides.
