MANILA — In an unexpected twist to their legal spat, Presidential Adviser for Poverty Alleviation Larry Gadon has publicly challenged lawyer Ferdinand Topacio to a one-on-one singing competition for a cause.
The unusual proposal came shortly after Topacio filed a petition for indirect contempt against Gadon, accusing him of making “highly offensive and outrageous public remarks” directed at the Supreme Court Justices, whom Gadon allegedly called “tuta ng mga Duterte.”
Gadon, known for his combative personality and colorful language, appeared unfazed by the legal action and instead offered a musical duel as a humorous yet charitable alternative.
“Let’s turn this drama into something positive,” Gadon said in a brief statement. “Why not settle this with a singing contest for a good cause? The public gets entertained, and we raise funds for those in need.”
Topacio has yet to respond to the challenge, but netizens have already begun speculating about what songs the two might perform should the showdown materialize.
While the legal battle between the two continues, this lighthearted challenge has added an unexpected twist to an otherwise serious confrontation. Whether Topacio will accept remains to be seen — but one thing is certain: this legal feud just hit a high note.
