The Taichung City Fire Department confirmed that they received a call around 7 p.m. regarding an unconscious man lying on the road near Taichung Hospital. Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered a man in his 30s unresponsive outside the hospital. Paramedics confirmed that he had no vital signs.
Police investigators reported that the same man had collapsed on a street in Taichung’s East District the previous day and had been transported to the hospital for treatment. However, he reportedly left the facility without informing medical staff. Members of the public later found him lying outside the hospital and alerted authorities.
Initial examinations found no evidence of physical assault or external injuries. Officials have contacted the man’s relatives and stated that the body will undergo an autopsy, under the direction of the prosecutor, to determine the exact cause of death.
