🚨 Bridgestone to Close Tire Factory in Taiwan, Over 500 Workers Affected 😢

Japanese tire giant Bridgestone Corporation has officially announced the shutdown of its tire manufacturing plant in Hukou Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan 🇹🇼 — a decision that will affect more than 500 workers.

According to Bridgestone Taiwan Co., the closure is part of the company’s global business adjustment and long-term strategy to reshape its operations worldwide 🌍.

The company confirmed that production activities at the Hsinchu plant have already begun winding down, and the facility will eventually stop manufacturing tires completely 🏭❌.

Although the factory is closing, Bridgestone assured customers and partners that the company will continue operating in Taiwan. Instead of manufacturing, the business will now focus more on sales, distribution, and customer service 📦🤝.

The Hsinchu County Government’s Labor Affairs Department said it has already received the company’s report regarding the planned mass layoffs. The worker reduction is expected to take effect on July 10 📅.

Officials also shared that discussions between the company and employees will continue in the coming days to ensure workers’ rights and benefits are protected ⚖️.

To help affected employees, Bridgestone Taiwan said it would provide career transition assistance, counseling services, and other support programs 💼❤️.

The company also plans to strengthen its sales network in Taiwan by working closely with local distributors and improving customer support services 🚗🔧.

Bridgestone assured the public that product supply and quality in Taiwan will remain stable despite the factory closure ✅.

Established in 1982, the Bridgestone plant in Hsinchu has been one of the company’s important production sites in Taiwan for more than four decades. Many workers and local residents expressed sadness over the closure, as the factory has long been part of the community 🏘️😔.
