Parman is a family-run company that Juanito N. Ferrer, a former colonel, created. In 1950, Ferrer started working in the construction industry as the City Engineer of Baguio. During the Aquino administration, he later rose to the position of Secretary for the Department of Public Works and Highways. In order to provide labor for various types of construction, engineering, and operations/maintenance projects, Ferrer founded PARMAN. Joel, his son, left the banking sector in 1982 to work as vice president of finance for ERECSA, Parman’s parent firm. Afterwards, Erecsa and Parman were combined. Parman has entered new areas during the younger Ferrer’s rule.
