1. Personal Care: Assisting with daily activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
2. Medical Assistance: Helping with medication management and following medical routines as prescribed by doctors.
3. Mobility Assistance: Helping patients move around, whether by walking or using wheelchairs or other mobility aids.
4. Household Tasks: Performing light housekeeping tasks like cleaning, laundry, cooking, and maintaining a safe living environment.
5. Companionship: Offering emotional support, engaging in conversation, and providing social interaction to avoid loneliness.
6. Monitoring Health: Keeping an eye on the individual’s physical and mental health, including noticing any changes in condition and reporting them to family or medical professionals.

In Taiwan, many caretakers are hired privately by families, while some work in senior care homes or through agencies. Taiwan also has a significant number of migrant workers, especially from countries like Indonesia and the Philippines, who fill many caregiving roles due to local labor shortages.
