Passenger Injured After Falling Onto Tracks at Xinfeng Railway Station in Taiwan
A 49-year-old male passenger was injured after accidentally falling onto the railway tracks at Xinfeng Railway Station in Taiwan on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Hsinchu County Fire Bureau, the incident happened at around 12:12 p.m. when station personnel reported that a passenger had fallen onto the tracks near Platform 1 at the train station.
Initial reports indicated that the man experienced dizziness and physical discomfort before accidentally falling from the platform onto the railway tracks. Fortunately, he was not struck by any incoming train during the incident.
Rescue personnel immediately responded to the scene and conducted an initial medical assessment. The victim reportedly sustained multiple abrasions and bruises on his head, elbows, and knees. Authorities confirmed that the man remained conscious during the rescue operation.
The injured passenger was later transported to Ton Yen General Hospital for further medical treatment and evaluation.
Meanwhile, Taiwan Railways personnel quickly implemented temporary track adjustments to ensure continued train operations. Authorities confirmed that the incident did not significantly affect train schedules or railway services.
Investigations are still ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the accident.
The Hsinchu County Fire Bureau also reminded passengers to prioritize safety while waiting at train platforms. Authorities advised commuters who feel dizzy or unwell to immediately seek assistance from station personnel and avoid standing near platform edges to prevent similar accidents.
