Taiwan – July 10, 2026 — As Typhoon Bavi continues moving closer to Taiwan, several cities and counties have announced work and school suspensions due to increasing risks from strong winds and heavy rainfall.
The Central Weather Administration (CWA) issued a land typhoon warning at 5:30 a.m. Friday, noting that although Typhoon Bavi has weakened into a moderate typhoon, its wind field remains extensive and may still bring significant impacts across Taiwan.

The following areas have announced full-day suspension of work and classes:

- New Taipei City
- Keelung City
- Taoyuan City
- Hsinchu City
- Hsinchu County
- Miaoli County
- Yilan County
- Hualien County
- Lienchiang County (Matsu Islands)
Areas With Suspensions Starting July 10 Evening
Several regions announced partial suspensions beginning at 6:00 p.m. on July 10, with full suspension continuing on July 11:
- Taichung City — Work and classes suspended from 6:00 p.m. July 10; suspension continues July 11.
- Nantou County — Work and classes suspended from 6:00 p.m. July 10; suspension continues July 11.
- Chiayi County — Meishan Township, Zhuqi Township, Fanlu Township, Dapu Township, and Alishan Township suspended work and classes from 6:00 p.m.
- Kaohsiung City — Namaxia District, Taoyuan District, Maolin District, Jiaxian District, and Liugui District suspended work and classes from 6:00 p.m.
Areas With Limited Suspension
- Taitung County
- Lanyu Township and Green Island Township suspended work and classes starting 1:00 p.m. July 10.
Areas Remaining Normal
The following areas continue normal work and school schedules:
- Changhua County
- Yunlin County
- Chiayi City
- Tainan City
- Pingtung County
- Penghu County
- Kinmen County
